I am what I read

In July 2008 I emerged from the Simpson Desert after completing a 24-day solo and unsupported walk charged with creative possibility. It was then, finally, that I became a writer. A year-an-half later I began to keep a record of my reading. These are my latterly influences. Be it reading for pleasure or distraction, for inspiration or education, or for the discovery of new and old ways of seeing and describing and storytelling.

So I introduce a new page: INFLUENCES: a reading list

The initial list of what I have read, from December 2009 through 2010, is now published. Over the coming days the list will be extended to come up to the present.

  1. Happy to find your blog! While my own writing focus is largely on food, I’ve started offering fiction and nonfiction book giveaways. In crafting reviews an discussing books, I am happy to learn from folks who have been at this longer than I! 🙂
